Andrew Alford Memorial 2014

In April our community suffered a tragic loss with the unexpected passing of Andrew Alford, a third grader at Long Branch Elementary School who played for three years, from 2011 through 2013, in Arlington Babe Ruth. Arlington Babe Ruth was a very important part of Andrew’s life and was critical to his development as a baseball player. Last summer, Andrew was wearing his Cal Ripken Arlington Babe Ruth league medal when he happened to meet Cal Ripken, Jr. at an Alexandria Aces college game. When Mr. Ripken saw the medal, the Hall of Famer graciously thanked Andrew for playing baseball. The gesture of a Hall of Famer thanking a young kid for playing baseball meant the world to Andrew.

Thank you for your consideration of making a gift in support of the Andrew Alford Memorial Project, which is sponsored by Arlington Little League, Long Branch Elementary School and Arlington Babe Ruth and which will honor Andrew's legacy by making improvements to the baseball field at Andrew’s school, Long Branch Elementary. The goals for the project are to include improvements to the field on which Andrew played, and also to add benches and other amenities, which will benefit Long Branch students and the many members of our community who use the field for youth baseball and softball for years to come.

Donations in support of the Andrew Alford Memorial Project may be made through the registration process.

Welcome

Welcome to Online Registration for Arlington Babe Ruth (ABR) Baseball, a league for players between the ages of 4 and 12. The name of the game at every youth level is FUN and FRIENDS. We strive to develop a positive sports culture and an enjoyable baseball experience for each player.

FEE WAIVERS - ABR is committed to giving every child it can the chance to play baseball. Anyone may request a fee waiver from the League, no questions asked. If you do so, complete this registration process and continue to check out, indicating you'll pay by check. We will adjust your balance for the fee waiver.

NON-VOLUNTEER FEE - We are proud that ABR is an all-volunteer organization. Our board of directors, highly skilled coaches and assistant coaches all willingly contribute hundreds of hours of their valuable time each year, and almost all of them are parents of players. We ask that you take a small but active role also in supporting these parent volunteers by paying a non-volunteer fee of $30 or by volunteering to help ABR implement better baseball. The fee is $30 per family, regardless of the number of players you have with ABR. If you would like to volunteer, Mark Guerrera, ABR board member and volunteer coordinator, will work with you to assign you to an 8-hour commitment in one of our greatest needs: Christmas tree sale, equipment pickup and returns, assistant coaching, umpiring or fixing fields.

MULTIPLE CHILD DISCOUNTS - If you have more than one child registering with ABR today, there is a $10 discount for each additional sibling registered.

Once you are set up in our system, you can add players and manage the information we have about you and your child. To register please click LOGIN/REGISTER above.

REGISTRATION ERRORS?: If you come across any errors with your registration, incorrect fees, or anything else you have questions about, complete your registration, then select the pay via check option.  Send us an email at arlbaberuth@yahoo.com and we'll make the correction to your registration.  You can then log back in and finish registration by paying on-line or sending us a check.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE ALL SET? You can be sure you've fully completed your registration process if you reach a payment options screen, and, upon payment, you get a confirmatory email. Players will not be placed on a team until payment is completed by credit card or check. [If you request a fee waiver, we will update your registration to reflect that, and your payment will be considered complete.]
